Since a former professor was killed in a private poker room in New York City, poker players from the underground poker scene were stunned, frightened and just plain scared shitless of the fact that any one of them could be next.

Masked men, armed with a shotgun, barged into an underground poker game on the 7th floor of an office building on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue. The masked men were trying to rob the joint and during the robbery, former professor, Frank DeSena was shot in the torso and killed after a gun went off by accident. Continue Reading »

How can modern slots offer life changing Jackpots? You’ll understand once you know the “Reel Story.”

There was a time when the size of a jackpot was limited to the combinations formed by the number of reels and the numbers symbols on each of the reels. In 1897 Charles Fey invented the first mechanical slot machine.

His slot machine had three reels and each reel had ten symbols on it. The symbols were horseshoes, spades, diamond, hearts and bells. Lining up three bells was the top prize giving the player the jackpot. This machine would come to be known as a bell machine. Since the machine had three reels with ten symbols on each there were 1,000 combinations that could be made. 10×10x10= 1,000. The total payout for all winning combinations was 750 coins. This gave the “House” a 25 percent profit.

His gambling empire in Macau, that is, that has slipped largely since Las Vegas casino-hotel moguls decided to invade his land.

On Sunday, Stanley Ho opened his new Grand Lisboa casino. The new structure is reputed to compete with all those Vegas style casinos that are fast mushrooming in Macau, particularly in the Cotai-Macau gambling district.

You see, this 85-year-old billionaire had monopoly of casino gambling on the island, and the whole of Asia on the larger scale. Because Macau is the singlemost place in Asia where gambling is legal, in all sense of the word.

He built 17 casinos that has become stodgy, smoky and with very bad service. No one really complained much because Asian gamblers had nowhere else to go in the region. Until 2002 that is when the Chinese government opened its doors to other private casino investors, like Steve Wynn and the Sands’ Sheldon Adelson.

Naturally, the humongous casinos overshadowed Ho’s mini-empire. Prompting him to build his new Grand Lisboa casino. And it is posed to reclaim the international gambling community’s attention. Continue Reading »

Saturday  tip lost as Lens could only manage a 2-2 draw with Strasbourg,
but I will still be keeping an eye on Lens in the next few games as their
recent form has suggested that they are heading in the right direction and
by still offer a bit of value.

Today I am going into League One and the game between Walsall and Leyton
Orient both sides that are pushing for promotion to the Championship.

Walsall are 4th in the league and are on a current run of 16 games
undefeated since their last League defeat a 2-0 home loss to Southend back
in October. Since that time they have steadily climbed the table.
